ArtWaves can work alongside your event, bringing in specialist art workshops. We have worked along side organisations such as the Stoke-on-trent City Council on World Health Day 2010.Events - WHD In conjunction with the Global Health Day, on the 11th April, 2010. The City provided a fun packed day situated over 3 sites; Hanley Forest Park (fitness), Hanley City Center (healthy eating) and Artwaves presented an Arts and Health day at Burslem Park. A cycling link and free 30 min bus service joined the 3 events. The day was a great success combining various health activities and creative workshops which encouraged people to become involved in a healthier lifestyle. Working with the partnerships of the Stoke on Trent City Council, WEA and Stoke on Trent PCT we provided many workshops and entertainment. |

Surface Meeting
| Surface is a collaborative Art movement comprising of a diverse Mixture of artists, designers, makers who explore the Surface through varying media and techniques. Believing that diversification of media and a broad skill base make for the best collaborations. The main aims of Surface include Self promotion through networking, exhibitions, collaborations and skill swapping on a national level with other artist lead organisations in other cities across the UK. Actively seeking Innovative and original funding methods to achieve these aims. |

Burslem Arts & Craft Festivals - Past Event
The Arts and Crafts Festival that took place in Burslem town centre in May was a fantastic event, profiling the diverse range of creative industries in Stoke-on-Trent. Events such as the Burslem Festival add to the cultural infrastructure of the city and provide a platform for artists and designer makers to showcase their work. Talking Shop
The Talking Shop is a suite of projects that was developed by Staffordshire University in collaboration with partner organisations. The projects were all based in North Staffordshire and offered informal learning opportunities including creative work, social networking media and community radio. The projects took place between November 2009 and March 2010, and culminated with a celebration event at Staffordshire University on 27th March 2010, which included the launch of Cre8 Radio, a community radio station broadcasting from Staffordshire University. By this time, a Talking Shop website was also up and running to further disseminate the project activities. The Talking Shop was funded by the Transformation Fund. The funding application was developed by a team from the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design, and in October 2009. Julie Gould and Julie Newbold from Artwaves, contributed to the overall coordination of the project in a range of ways such as participant recruitment, attending steering group meetings and providing practical support and encouragement to artists and participants. The network of artists who were linked to Artwaves included Nicola Winstanley, Karen Sayle, Rob Pointon, and Alex Shimwell. |
